THE LOLA T92/00

This is likely to be chassis number 26 that was supplied to Mugen in Japan although it would be 1994 before Honda entered CART racing.
1990 and 1991 had been great years for Lola in CART racing with the T90/00 and the T91/00 winning a total of twenty-three out of thirty-two races. Would Lola be able to repeat this success in 1992, the answer was a resounding yes with another ten wins and the Championship for Bobby Rahal.
The full technical details of the T92/00 can be found in the Lola Info Pack which can be downloaded HERE in zip format.
The 1992 PPG Indy Car World Series started slowly for the T92/00 only winning one race of the first four when Bobby Rahal was victorious at Phoenix, the other three races going to Emerson Fittipaldi's Penske PC-21 at Surfers Paradise and to new manufacturer Galmer with the G92 at Long Beach and Indianapolis for Danny Sullivan and Al Unser Jr. respectively. However, after this slight stutter the T92/00 came good winning nine of the remaining twelve races with only Fittipaldi's Penske able to take any further victories.
The most popular and successful engine choice was the Chevy A which took seven wins and powered Bobby Rahal to the Championship, next came the Ford XB (replacement for the DFS) which gave five victories to Michael Andretti with the final winner the Chevy B used exclusively by the Penske team which finished first four times. Six T92/00s were fitted with a Buick engine but the only result of note was the third place taken by Al Unser Snr. at the Indy 500.
