The T350 in pre-season testing.
The T350 was Lola's first Formula Three design since the 1965 T60 and technology had moved on in the ten years since then. It was originally announced that Lola would field a two car team with successful Lola T340 F Ford drivers Patrick Neve and Robert Joubert driving but, in the event, it seems that Neve never drove it. The first (and only) chassis built carried out pre-season testing in the hands of Joubert and "raced" twice with the South African, at the Thruxton BP Super Visco British Championship round where it did not start with engine problems and the Monaco F3 race where it did not pre-qualify.
After this, in the middle of May, it appears Robert Joubert purchased the car, had it converted to Formula Atlantic T360 spec and headed across the Atlantic where it competed in three races (see below).
The T350 was to the same design as the T360 with suitable adjustments for the less powerful Formula Three regulations. The T360 was very successful in Formula Atlantic so, perhaps, given sufficient development it could have been a winner in Formula Three.
