T89-00 HU21 is best remembered as Bobby Rahal's mount in the 1989 PPG Indy Car World Series where he had a successful season including a win at the Marlboro Grand Prix at Meadowlands and a second at Portland.
The car is now owned by DG Formula Racing out of Wilkes Barre Pa. who tell us:
"HU21 is run in local SCCA road and historic events including most of the Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association events. We are extremely proud of this car.
The photos were taken at 'Americas Oldest Hillclimb'- Giant's Despair Hillclimb in Wilkes Barre, Pa. on the 100th anniversary of the event this past July 06 - the car shattered the old hill record with a 39.000 second run up the one mile long hill with a 700 foot rise and 20 degree inclines. It was King of the Hill with the fastest time of the weekend and broke the record held by a twin turbo powered Reynard by nearly a full second. It is powered by an Indy Buick V6 turbo methanol motor."
