The third iteration of SL76/148 after Picko Troberg destroyed two cars in early 1969, thiscar featured salvageable parts from Troberg’s wrecks and was bought from Lola byBritish privateer Barrie Smith in 1969.
Smith campaigned SL76/148 around Europe, Argentina and South Africa through 1969and 1970 with victories at Crystal Palace.
Road registered in the UK in late 1970 by then owner John Farley and remaining on thesame registration today.
SL76/148 continued its racing exploits with Richard Bond, along with Gerry Marshall andRay Mallock when owned by Geoffrey Marsh.
Subsequently owned by David Piper and Richard Attwood for nearly 20 years and racedin their ownership by a selection of drivers.
In the current ownership of Chris Beighton since 2006, SL76/148 has been maintainedand supported by Simon Hadfield Motorsport for over 10 years, taking many race wins.
