The current owner of T640 HU8 is Robin Oldfield from St Louis, Missouri. HU8 was imported by Lola's North American distributor Carl A. Haas Automobile Imports and delivered new by his Dallas, TX dealer Greg Atwell to Charles Nearburg of Highland Park, a Dallas suburb. Nearburg first raced the car on April 3, 1982 and subsequently campaigned it three more times that season. Robin Oldfield acquired the car in the Fall of 1982 and has owned it ever since. It is noteworthy that Charles Nearburg went on to drive a Lola Indy Car at several CART events in the late 90s and is currently competing in the Historic Grand Prix series in an ex-Alan Jones 1981 Williams FW078/6.
Ken Johnson, with Robin before first practice at Indianapolis Raceway Park, was his first Crew Chief.
In his first race at Indianapolis Raceway Park, Spring National April 1983, Robin leads a Van Diemen.
