T540 HU48 is owned by Sherry Dowling, it was one of 12 cars supplied to Mosport, via Carl Haas, for a racing school in early 1980. Sherry tells us some of the history of the chassis which is still racing very successfully today.

"I am the proud owner of Lola T540 HU-48. The car is located in Nokomis, Florida, USA. It is currently configured as a D Sports Racer and is one of a handful of conversion cars built by Ben Beasley in the80's known as a Beasley Lola. The current engine is a 1998 Yamaha R1 (1000cc). I race it regularly in the Florida and Central Florida regions of the SCCA. The car does over 150 mph athigh speed road courseslike Daytona.I have won many times in the car and am the 2008 DSR Florida Regional Champion.

I purchased my Lola from Jim Rawson of Houston, Texas in 2007. I believe Jim was the original American owner of the car in the Beasley Lolaconfiguration. Jim raced the car from 1984 until 2006, had many national and regional victories, and finished in the top ten at the SCCA Runoffs several times."
