1979 LOLA T492 HU85

T492 HU85 is owned by Alan White-Aldworth who is based in the UK and he tells us something of its history.

"I bought the Lola in November 1997 from Brian Simpson through his agents Tranzpower Racing in Chesterfield. The car had lately been run in HSCC events with a 2.2 litre engine and 8inch and 10inch wheels. I had Phil Williams of PWRS overhaul the car and return it to correct Sports 2000 specification and initially I raced in 750 Motor Club events during 1998. Later that year the revival of Sports 2000 by the SRCC came about and I have run the car most seasons since then except when rebuilds or other factors have intervened. In recent years my son Simon Aldworth has taken over the driving with significantly more purpose and success.

I understand that the car was originally sold in 1979 to a buyer in Sweden but currently I have no further information."
