HU16 following it's long restoration.

The owner of T492 HU16, Patrick van Broeck tells us something of its history.

"HU16 was bought new at the factory by L. Loushin in 1977 who raced in the SPORTS 2000 CHAMPIONSHIP. The car was then sold to Mr. Bill Burrows, who converted the car to Supersports. He added double 45 Webers, a very special cam, wider rims, alloy front calipers and a 5 speed MK8 Hewland gearbox. He drove the car in England and on the Continent.

The car came into my possession in the early nineties, it sat for a few years in my garage and then we decided to do a complete rebuild which took me 4 years, weekends only. The car is now in pristine condition and was taken for a shake-down at the Historic GP at Zolder by my very good friend and pilot DANY DE SCHUTERE (we lost Dany last year at the Nürburgring in his Crosslé) The car performed very well until he hit some gearbox problems. They were cured and now the LOLA sits in my garage and is well looked after.
