Nicholas Lees tells us something of the history of HU65, which he co-owns with Clive Wilson:
The car was delivered new late 1978 early 1979 as part of an order of three made by the Dutch importers Pinguin Racing, run by Jim and Huub Vermeluen. The other two cars were HU63 and HU64.
It was raced by the Vermeulens under ADP Dealer services sponsorship during 1979.
We don't have much information about what happened to it once it was no longer a current racer, and we bought it from Matt Johnson of Johnson Race Engineering here in the UK as a delapdated tub and rear frame, photos in the attached file.
It has been restored onto a new tub and rear section, but the originals remain with the car should anybody want to use them in the future. We are racing it in the HSCC Pre '80 series during 2017.
