1978 LOLA T492 HU25

T492 is owned by Håkan R. Holmberg who tells us about its history:

"In 1978 it was raced successfully in England by Mr John Brindley. It was then bought by Mr Charlie Bäckstrand, Sweden. (He painted it violet with pink wheels!), he sold the car to Mr Mats Smedegård after painting it white on the buyers request.

Mr Smedegård won the Swedish Championship with the car 1982. He repainted the car red with gold wheels and raced it in the 1983 season. After this it was aquired by Mr Robert Petterson, at that time head-editor of the magazine "Automobil".

I bought the car from Mr Johan Andersson, who found the car, in September 2007. It has been renovated to the highest standards by Mr Björn Zetterman in Örebro. He also operates as my engineer at raceweekends and takes care of the car.

We have moulds and can supply T492 body-work. HU25 is today in Gulf-livery."
