HU59 at Ring Knutstorp in 1991.
The current owner of T492 HU59 is Håkan Anderberg who lives in Sweden, he tells us of its history:
"I bought HU59 from a guy named Niels Blegvad back in 1988.
Previous owners are:
1981-1982 Ted Aspudd
1983 Jan Brunstedt
1984 Claes Juhlin
1985-1986 Unknown
1987 Niels Blegvad
When I bought the car the monocoque was in pretty bad shape. The S2000 had been altered completely in Sweden somewhere around 1985, there were no longer limits regarding engine, power etc. The name of the class changed to “RS” (Racing Sports). The cars took a lot of beating. Furthermore, I crashed in a race at Falkenberg, almost got the back of the car tipping over the front. After this there were two deep cracks on the left and right pontoon. I didn´t race 1989, nor 1990 but in 1991 I came second in the Swedish S2000 Series. After this the car was a total wreck. I disassembled the aluminum chassis.
In 2002 I built a new monocoque together with my friend Mattias Åström. It was finished 200, however, my work made me forget the car until 2019. Now, Mattias and I have built an engine, mounted almost every part and aimed at racing in the 2020 season, but then Covid-19 came. We hope that 2021 will be the year of return for HU59."
