T410 HU3 owner Claude Stienne, who lives near Lille in France, tells us of his much loved car:
"In 1980 I bought a Lola T410 Formula Renault Europe, chassis number HU3, from Danielson at Magny-Cours, the car had been racing the Formula Renault Europe Championship in 1975 with Jacky Haran.
I prepared the car for hillclimbing, fitting a Hewland Mk9 gearbox and an engine built at home (the original engine and all its componentes were carefully stored).
From 1981 I raced the Lola in the formula libre category at hillclimbs in France and Belgium, as well as doing some regional track racing with quite good results until 1985.
I always wanted to keep the Lola (it carries some very good memories), it's a very good car with plenty to enjoy, it's beautiful and it's also very driveable, giving you lots of confidence, you don't need anything else.
In 2002 I did a huge restoration, putting the bodywork back to its original shape but didn't refit the original mechanichal parts as I preferred to keep them for performance and reliability. I kept running it for fun in club gatherings and demonstration laps at nice French cicuits, recently I've been running at Montlhéry's Autodrome Héritage Festival, and also at the celebration of the 50 years of Formule France at Castellet for the Clio Cup Finals."
