Greg Baldwin is the current owner of T292 HU49, Greg says:

"I am searching for information regarding the history of Lola T292 HU49. A 1980 Italian logbook indicates that the car was constructed in 1972 although the Lola production records show a 1973 date, it was delivered to Jo Bonnier in 1973.

I have no information regarding its original purchaser, who raced it in the 70's, or where it competed. I am anxious to obtain this information but so far have been unsuccessful."

In the 1980's, HU49 was owned in succession by Raffaelle Mattiello of Francolise, Gianni Cossu of Macomer, and Giovanni Pagnucci of Lucca. During that period it was raced at Varano, Popli, Cuglieri, Teulada, Ortabene, Pergusa, Todi, Nuoro, Cossa del Sud, Gonone and several other Italian circuits and hill climbs. At this point, I have no record of how it performed. However, I do have photographs of the car and chassis in it's Macomer Racing Team livery.

In the 1990's, HU49 was purchased by Paolo Casazza. I do not know if he raced the car. In 1997 or 98, HU49 was purchased in Italy by Tom Black and Tom Kreger. They restored the car and replaced the hill climb engine with a proper Cosworth Vega. They have raced the car at Portland International Raceway and Thunderhill (California). I purchased the car in 2004 and race it primarily on the West Coast.
