T290 HU-26 is now owned by Walter Vollrath from Wisconsin, he bought the car from Keith Frieser who lives in Edmonton in Canada. Keith told us some of the story of HU26:
"My Lola 290 was originally ordered by Guy Edwards. He ordered 3 of them and before delivery sold this one to Barrie Smith (England) and Rene Ligonnet (France). They received 500,000 Francs from Kodak France, and Barrie and Rene raced the car in 1972. They did well and won a number of races, but most importantly they ran the car at Le Mans. This is the first Lola ever to finish a 24 hour race, and they came in 14th overall and 1st in class!! They have graciously provided me many articles and pictures of the car from this period.
I currently race the car in vintage events (mostly on the west coast of the USA). Last year, we were accepted to the Rolex Monterrey Historics and ran there 2 weekends in August. The car currently sports T296 bodywork, and we are running a carbureted Cosworth BDG."
