HU17 originally raced in the European 2ltr Sportscar Championship in 1972 and 1973 under the Team ownership of Coachbuilder - Marcel Van Hool with F2/F3 driver, Freddy Grainal. Best result was 5th at the Nürburgring 500 km in September 1972.
Later in the 70's/80's it ran later bodywork and a Porsche engine competing in the European Hillclimb scene. The cars restoration was completed in early 2002 with subsequent strong showings at the Le Mans Classic in 2002 and 2004.
I had the opportunity to race the car in 2017 at the Algarve Historic Festival where it finished 1st in class. A new FIA HTP is underway and a return to Testing and Racing soon.
