T290 HU7 was Invoiced on January 3, 1972 from the factory to Jo Bonnier, Lola's European agent, it was sold on to the Osella Racing Team in Italy. HU7 was now fitted with a 2-litre Abarth engine and was entered in the European 2-litre Championship at Vallelunga on 23rd April 1972. Carlo Facetti drove HU7, he qualified third and finished 7th on aggregate over two heats setting fastest lap at 1m 14.9s, 153.805 kmh.
It is not clear what happened to HU7 after this until it was shipped to the United States in the mid-80's and competed in many vintage races.
Phil Daigrepont purchased the Lola in February 2005 and said "We have been racing this Lola all over the United States and it has finished in first place several times. it is one of the fastest cars I own."
In October 2009 Richard Griot, who already owns a T160 (SL160/8), became the new owner of T290 HU7.
The Lola is now painted in the original livery from when it raced in 1972, it has a Cosworth four cylinder B.D.G. engine producing approximately 295 HP and is fitted with a five-speed gearbox.
