T280 HU01 is now owned by Dominique Guenat in Switzerland who purchased it from Jean-Marc Merlin.
The Lola T280 chassis number 1 (HU01) is the survivor of the two Jo Bonnier team cars entered in Le Mans in 1972. Bonnier died in HU02 during that race. The engine is an amazing Cosworth 3L DFV designed for Formula 1 cars.
After more than 2 years of hard work by Yvan Mahé and his team renovating this historic car, HU1, the surviving Jo Bonnier Lola T280 was present at the Paul Ricard track in early October 2010.
Gerard Larousse (who drove the car at Daytona, Buenos Aires, Brands Hatch, Monza, Watkins Glen and the Le Mans 24 Hours) was watching as HU1 hit the track again after almost 40 years.
