1970 LOLA T210 SL/01

Graham Adelman became the new owner of SL/01 in 2011.

Previous owner Richard Rothman recounts the history of this famous car.

"This was the factory sponsored prototype in which Jo Bonnier won the Driver's Championship in the 1970 under two liter World's Sports Racing Prototypes championship series.  Bonnier compiled an amazing record in this car. He missed winning the Manufacturer's Championship by a single point caused by a spin on the last lap of the final race of the series at Spa.  Brian Redman passed him there and Brian was thus able to win the 1970 Manufacturer's Championship for Chevron."

All races were round of the European 2-litre Championship with the exception of Silverstone which was a non-championship event.

Bonnier also raced SL/01 at Hameenlina on May 3, a two heat race in which he took a DNF in the first heat, but won the second. 

"I have also found the Jo Bonnier raced a Lola T210, very possibly SL-01 at Aachen on October 18, 1970.  Overall outcome of the top 6 sports cars, two liter prototypes and racing cars is as follows:"
