This car was invoiced and delivered on 21/06/69 to Carl Haas, the US Lola importer. Painted blue it was delivered to G Auto USA, who did nothing with the car before selling it to Steve Weaver, an SCCA club racer based out of Indianapolis.

In 1970, Steve finished 3rd in the SCCA Central Division National points standings having won two events with SL163/20, at Michigan and at his home track at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Steve sold the car the following year to fellow SCCA club racer Gregory Hodges, who bought the car to replace his by now very old T70 MkIII, SL73/129. Gregory raced the car in SCCA California club events for the next couple of years then sold the car to Tony Settember, who only did the one race with the car, at the ’73 Laguna Seca Can-Am where he retired after only 2 laps when a cylinder head gasket blew on the engine.

SL160/20 was then sold to Charles Pat Semple, who hired Bob Kemple for a one-off drive in the car at Riverside. After a troubled practice, he failed to start the race. The car then ended up in Chicago at some point in the mid 70s and had been converted to a road car before being turned back into race car spec by RM Motorsport sometime in the 80s.

The car then passed on to restorer Mac McClendon in California, who stored the car for some time before restoring the car and selling it to David Harvey of Cult Sportscars, New Zealand in 2000.

In 2004 the SL163/20 was sold to French historic car collector Marcel Vaneur where it was stored along with the other cars in his collection. In 2009 he part exchanged the car for a McLaren M6B with the current owner, Lilo Zicron of California.

Race prepared and maintained by Toluca Lake Historics, the car is currently raced by Ed Swart on behalf of the owner.
