MK5 BRJ52 lived in Sweden for all its competitive life until, in 2012, it moved to Portugal with new owner João Paulo Campos Costa.

The previous owner of BRJ52, Anders Ericsson recounts its history.:

"This is the car Picko Troberg of Sweden bought, back in 1962. Picko was an up and coming man in Swedish racing and to finance his racing career he arranged sportscar shows in Stockholm in the early sixties. With the profit from the shows, Picko went to the UK to buy something competitive and came back with the Lola. He entered the biggest event for FJ in Sweden that year, at the Karlskoga circuit where he qualified on the first row between Tony Maggs and John Love who were Cooper factory drivers at that time. After a heroic fight Picko dropped down due to gearbox trouble, but still he claims that it was with this car that he got his breakthrough and established him as a race driver, both nationally and internationally.

After a series of successful races in ‘62 he moved on and got himself a Lola Mk5A and sold the Mk5 to Freddy Kottulinsky who drove it most part of the ‘63 season.

At the end of the FJ era it was converted to a F3 1000 sidedraught, passed though many hands and lived on, but as usual with race cars, it was converted into specifications it was not meant to, and it ended it’s first career as a Formula Ford, before being stored.

It was found in that condition and was brought back after a thorough restoration, to FJ spec and used for historical racing."
