The current owner of BRJ8 is Jonathan Hughes who acquired the car in 2018 from Tony (Taff) Smith from North Yorshire in the UK who, in 2014, purchased the car from Andrea Guarino in Rome.
Andrea Guarino recounts some of the history of the chassis: "I am not sure of its past history. However it appears that BRJ8 was originally sold to a team named "Scuderia LONG Lola". I've been told by Horst Bruenning that "LONG" was a cigarette brand: if so (and I'm sure it is) the team was a precursor of Gold Leaf Lotus!"
It is documented that the car was raced in Sweden, as it is shown by the magazine cover and by the black and white pictures. Subsequently the car was most probably repatriated in the UK and neglected, as shown by the pictures of the car with the green paint; then it has been restored and raced in historic competitions, but I don't know by whom. Maybe that the past owners would recognize themselves in the pictures and provide the Heritage site with some additional information.
Horst Bruenning afterwards purchased BRJ8 and brought it back to Sweden and raced it there.
