BRJ5, built in 1960 was the works Formula Junior car driven by Dick Prior who took wins in the Vanwall Trophy at Snetterton and the Eifelpokal-Rennen, a round of the German FJ Championship on the Nürburgring's South Circuit.

In 1961 the car passed to Peter Thurston in Kent who painted the car red/maroon in place of the original BRG.

Well known club racer Devon's Tony Broster, bought BRJ5 for £325 (inc. trailer) in April 1965 and painted her red with a black nose. Broster fitted a 1100cc Martin engine and raced the car at Mallory Park, Castle Combe and Aintree in 1965.

The following year, 1966, saw Norman Davies from Dorset buy the car and mainly competed in hillclimbs although he did race at the Crystal Palace in 1970.

Frank Tiedeman bought BRJ5 in 1972 and fitted a 1500cc engine for use in Monoposto racing and hillclimbs. Following an accident at Phoenix Park in 1975 a FJ spec engine was fitted following a 10 year rebuild and the car was painted post office red.

2001 saw new owners Grant and Clive Wilson totally rebuild the car to correct specifications and paint the car Cambridge Blue/Oxford Blue.

Stuart Tizzard became the new owner in 2009 and he raced the car for two years until selling it in January 2012 to current owner Justin Fleming who totally rebuilt the car and fitted a new engine.
