An unusual entry in the Lola Chassis Register, B2K HU2K00-01 was one of six cars supplied during the season to the Newman Haas team, for use in the 2000 CART FedEx Champ Car World Series.

The two drivers for the team were Michael Andretti and Christian Fittipaldi and they won three races during the year, two to Andretti and one to Fiyttipaldi (Lola won seven in total).

It’s difficult to be sure, but it likely that 01 was driven by Christian as he managed five accidents during the year while Michael only had one at the end of the season and six accidents are matched by the six chassis supplied.

So, what is unusual? As can be seen from the photos, new owner Gary Francisconi, who was given the clearly damaged tub, which lacks bodywork, suspension and engine/gearbox! However, since Gary has the chassis complete with chassis plate it qualifies for the Chassis Register.
