THE LOLA T680

The T680 would be Lola's last Formula Ford 2000 design and it followed on from the disastrous T582 ground-efect design. Clearly Lola had learnt their lesson and the new car showed a clear resemblance to a be-winged T642 and the Safety Roll Bar Certificate would indicate the same chassis design may well have been used. However the damage had been done and only two cars were built and, after testing by Mike Blanchet, HU1 (sold in 1983) went to Wolber Motorsport in Germany for Wolfgang Troost and HU2 (sold in 1984) to Christal Racing in the UK for Bernard Horwood. There are indications that Troost went well in his car in the German Championship.
