THE LOLA T900

Al Unser Jr. finished second in the 1985 PPG Indy Car World Series.
The 1990 T900 was was Lola's new Indy car design following on from the Championship winning T800 which had given Mario Andretti six race wins and teammate Danny Sullivan three. The new car was an evolution of the older car with a stiffer monocoque and revised aerodynamics to suit new regulations designed to reduce speeds on the super-speedways.

The 1985 PPG Indy Car World Series season started off in the best possible way with Mario Andretti in the Carl Haas/Beatrice T900 winning at Long Beach, taking second at the Indy 500 and winning again at Milwaukee and Portland. Sadly however that was it for Mario with no more wins in the remaining eleven races just a single third place at Phoenix and he finished the season in fifth in the final standings. The other T900 winner was Al Unser Jr. in the Doug Shierson/Domino's Pizza car who was victorious at Meadowlands and Cleveland, three seconds and three thirds in other races saw Little Al finish as runner-up in the Championship. Interestingly the Championship winner Big Al only won one race during the year in his March 85C.
