THE LOLA T598

Alastair Lyall on his way to victory in the T598 in the B&Q UK Championship race at Oulton Park on the 17th of August.

There is no indication in Lola Heritages as to what changes were introduced in the last iteration of the T590 series, the exploded diagrams below show all the suspension parts came from previous models so monocoque/bodywork are the remaining options.

Alastair Lyall took Lola's first UK Championship win since 1980 (and the last until 1988) although it is not clear what chassis he used as all the run are shown to have gone to the USA so is it in fact a T598 or an updated earlier car, perhaps the car he used in 1984? It does display the NACA duct of the T598 which the earlier cars did not have so either a new car or an updated older model rather than just an older model.

Once again it is likely the design did well in the USA.
