The T596C testing.
Only two T596C models were built and both were exported to the USA for SCCA C Sports racing. One, HU16, was fitted with a 12A Mazda Rotary engine which, in standard tune. displaced 1.146cc and is likely the blue car illustrated and is certainly the car shown after the brochure below. There are no details in the Archives as to the engine in the second car.
An advert for HU16 stated "Multiple winner of SCCA Illigen Classic 4 hours, NASA 12 Hours, 12 Hours of the Cascades, among many other west coast endurance racing titles." so it was clearly very successful.
