Following on from Jackie Stewart's race-winning outings in the works T260 in 1971 the car was sold to the Roman Brio Racing Team were it would be driven by Tom Heyser who would be having his first season in CanAm racing.
After missing the opening round at Mosport the Roman Brio Team debuted at Road Atlanta where Heyser qualified 17th out of 23 cars and finished 11th. For the next round at Watkins Glen Reine Wisell guested in the T260 qualifying 10th but retiring with engine problems.
Round 4 at Mid-Ohio saw Heyser back on driving duties and again he qualified 17th and finishing 18th although he wasn't running at the end due to differential problems. Elkhart Lake was the next venue with the T260 lining up 14th on the grid but it was out on lap 3 with a broken gearbox.
It was 26th on the grid for Round 6 at Donnybrooke and Heyser held on to finish 10th in a race of attrition. Next up was Edmonton and Heyser qualified 16th in a small field and once again he scored points with a 9th place finish. The penultimate race was at Laguna Seca and the T260 was once again 9th after qualifying 21st.
The final race of the year was at Riverside and Heyser started 24th and could only finish 18th. In the final standings the Roman Brio driver finished 21st with 5 points.

The CanAm T260, driven by Jackie Stewart in 1971, continued to race in the 1972 series.
