Having a wife who works for a Brazilian company can have unexpected benefits.

Knowing of the connection with Lola Heritage Gabriel da Silva Filho sent the following pictures which he came across in an old racing magazine when clearing out his loft!

Accident during practice at Interlagos.

(Photo 1) After hitting the guard-rail the Lola T70 of Mota Nunes rolls and immediately catches fire. The driver escapes and seeks help from the Marshals.

(Photo 2) Despite the efforts of the Marshals the fire is soon out of control.

(Photo 3) The Lola T70, considered one of the best local cars for tomorrow’s race, was completely destroyed.

(Photo 4) When the fire brigade arrived, all they could do was watch and try to prevent the fire becoming a risk to other cars.

We've since been contacted by Ibsen Otoni Pereira who tells us that the unfortunate driver of the T70 was actually Marinho Antunes, not Mota Antunes and he has also found these colour pictures of the accident in Auto Esporte, a Brazilian magazine.
