Charouz Racing System driver Stefan Mucke was at Lola today undertaking his seat
fitting for the Czech team's Lola B07/10 LMP1 shakedown test at Pembrey this
coming Wednesday.
The German former DTM driver was in ebullient mood as his taylor made seat was moulded around him and he was looking forward to making his LMP debut at Monza next month when the Le Mans Series kick off.
"This is a very good situation for me. The guys at Lola and Judd are very professional and the seat fitting was done very swiftly. I have no experience of the real Le Mans but did race on the Bugatti circuit in DTM. We also did some night practice that year too. But I know that this is not like Le Mans in June on the legendary track. I will prepare very thoroughly and with the tests that we will do at Paul Ricard I am sure that we can be in very good shape for the test days. Above all I am really looking forward to it because I know that Mr Charouz has a real passion for Le Mans and that the Lola LMP1 will be super quick with the Judd 5.5 litre."
Mucke has some experience in a prototype having tested the Rollcentre Radical last Autumn.
The build of the Charouz Lola-Judd is right on schedule and the fire up of the engine will be done this (Monday) afternoon. The car will then be transported to Pembrey for the test on Wednesday where Stefan will conduct the initial systems checks and subsequent shakedown tests. The car will then come back to Lola and be prepared for the Paul Ricard test on March 25-26 where Alex Yoong and Jan Charouz will also get seat time. The team will run with the 2007 Lola aero update specification and Michelin tyres.
