LolaT642e in rebuild

Postby Majormallock » Sun Mar 27, 2016 11:18 am

Hello all, new to the forum, recently aquired 1983 LolaT642e Formula Ford as a rolling chassis and missing a few bits. Had oem parts to copyfrom so have made front wishbones both sides, top and bottom ( still have the jigs and could make some more if anyone needs them). Also had cast in Front uprights in LM25 had them heat treated to Tf specificationand machined( did 2 off each so we had spares, would sell if needed). In addition made rear side panels in glassfibre, again made 2 off each side. We did nothave molds for the top and front cowl, so we bought them from TW Moulding.

Only thing we dont have yet is a Hewland Mk 9 gearbox if anyone has one pm me please

One last thing I would like help with, or should I say the Main thing is: I have the bulkhead and cansee where the chassis plate was, but no plate, any ideas how I can trace it?

I have a 642E I use for track days.

Would be happy to take photos of anything if you need them to help you get it back going again.

Sorry for delayed response. Thank you for your kind offer but we have a friend in the UK who has one we use for reference even though he uses his in monoposto.
We are progressing very well albeit slowly. The chassis and all suspension is now powder coated and being reassembled. The engine is being rebuilt as we speak and should be on the dyno next week. We have bought new body mouldings from TWM and because of that decided to re skin all aluminium given that it has obviously been through a few scrapes. At the end of this rebuild it will be as good as new. Probably done more than needed just caught the bug of getting it right.
