I'd need one too for my T142 restoration. However, I think this can fairly easlily be done out of a flat sheet of plexi or lexan. Or does the original have compound curves?

According to my restorer it is a quite complex piece, requiring a mould or what ever theyuse to form it.
Surely someone must make them.

Aircraft Windshield Co. in Los Alamitos has the mold for the T142 windscreen and I am in the process of ordering one. Cost ist USD250 a piece. I assume the T140 windscreen is identical.

Contact Judy Gallo at:

Hi!

Unfortunately, I already wired money to them - which means no discount for me
I only needed one piece, but did know from TWM that they will need some too, but wanted to wait until I have mine and could check on my car. That's why I went ahead (and be the guinea pig).
But if you can still get a larger order together, I think you should be able to get a discount.
I'll wait for mine, and let you know anyway how it fits on my car. By the way, which one is your car? Mine is SL142/20.

Best regards, Reto

Hi Reto
Mine is 140/8
The ex Jerry Hansen car.
The rebuild is well under way and hopefully should be completed in a couple of months.

Will you do a cross ram manifold on this engine (as the car once had)?

Yes Reto
We will be running the cross over manifold with DCOEs,we are restoring it as close as practical to its original configuration

That's great! I look forward to the power figures of this setup. I think there are two issues with cross-ram manifolds: Space for tall valve covers might be tight and the carbs are more exposed to rising heat than on a down-draft setup. But I think this can all be controlled and it certainly looks great.

Hi Reto
I believe we can control those issues.
But we will not be able to run the engine cover just as Jerry didnt back in 68.
He raced the car extremely succrssfully in 68 so it must have been OK in principle.
With what we know today we should be OK
Was hoping to have it ready to race at the AGP next month but it certainly looks at this stage that we wont make it.
But still planning to take to the US to do Watkins Glen in June and Elkhart Lake in July, then bring it home for the rest of the season here.
Wish me luck.
What stage is your car?
