Heritage Links page - Help Wanted

Postby Gerald Swan » Wed Oct 25, 2006 4:02 pm

As I'm sitting here with nothing to do (BTW that is sarcasm/irony :)) I thought I would like to revamp the Links page on the site which, currently, is the page from the original Heritage site carried forward.

The plan is to subdivide the page into a number of headings to make it easier to find what your looking for.

So I'm looking for new and interesting links, they don't have to be Lola-related, just of possible interest to people who visit the Heritage site.

I'm thinking of things like sites that cover championships, current or historic, circuit sites, other interesting Forums, suppliers of racing parts, book/DVD shops specialising in racing wares, model makers. Whatever you think is interesting. If it's a commercial site and you've used it and can recommend it then so much the better.

I've already got a list myself but obviously I'm far less aware of specialist sites in the US/Australia/NZ/South Africa etc. so let me know.

Gerald.

Hi Gerald,

Hooray! I got in! May I suggest my own website: www.johnstarkeycars.com? There's Race cars for sale, books, articles on various cars, all may be interesting to your readers.

Kind regards

John

P.S. I won't be upset if you decline!

How about a link for books and other resources? I have used an outfit called motorbooks. Their prices have been good, but international buyers may want to check postage rates.

The web address is: wwww.motorbooks.com

I have no affiliation with them.

Seeing how you already have Martin Krejci's Racing Sports Cars site - http://www.racingsportscars.com/ , I would suggest you add in his other site too - World Sports Racing Prototypes - http://www.wsrp.wz.cz/

A new assocition has just been formed to promote racing for historic FF2000 in Europe, specifically for cars built and raced up until 1980. The HSCC has agreed to organise a pilot race in the UK in 2007. There are currently 38 cars registered, 2 of which are Lolas. The link is www.historicff2000.co.uk

As many Lola afficianados are aware, Sports 2000 is experiencing something of a growing revival, in the UK at least [witness the new B07/90 model just introduced].
Lola are always well represented in both Pinto and Duratec guises, from the 1979 T492 model onwards in the "historic" category, the T86/90 (like mine) in the "classic" category and the T87/90 up to the T90/90 models in the most recent category (Pinto engined, or converted to Duratec in a separate class and category).

The Link for the Sports 2000 club website in the UK is:-

http://www.sports2000-srcc.com

This site in turn has links to related specialist sites, and the forum there has links to both US and European S2 interest groups.

Gerald, I hope this link's addition gives encouragement to owners of suitable Lolas to dust them off and join the action!

Regards, Howard Jones

OK guys, all of the above will be added.

If you think it's all gone quiet I haven't forgotten the revised page but I've been trying to get the Archive finished so that I can start adding as much as possible to the site.

Thanks Reinhold, I'll keep a note.

I haven't forgotten about updating the Links page but I thought about doing it when things were quiet and following the Law of Sod things immediately became very busy again but it is on my "To Do" list :).
