lucas fuel injection in lola mkIIIB

Postby bbkbuys » Sat Jul 30, 2011 8:40 pm

I'm currently making a transkit to transfer Tamiya's 1/12 lola MKIII model into the Roger Penskes Sunoco sponsored Daytona '69 24hr winner.

I know the Daytona racer used Lucas injection. To be able to get the Chevy engine fuel lines in my model connected in correct sequence, I wonder if the Lucas fuel injection setup will turn clockwise or counterclockwise while in operation. Same question for the contact breaker setup: rotation clockwise or counterclockwise?

When i finalise this transkit, maybe i'll do a whale tale for the LeMans 67 racer (ain't that the most beautiful tale ever?). A project 218 AM engine might be next step, if i can find correct data.
There has been a thread here started by me few years ago with questions about this project 218 engine (see http://lolaheritage.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1183&p=3177&hilit=project#p3177), so any input on this is welcome too.
