Its certainly looking a lot better
When are you planning to finish it,or should I say hoping!!!!
Are there any parts you are still missing or do you have them all?
As you are probably aware mine is being rebuilt as a result of a significant accident I had in 2008.
Good luck with yours

Hi!

Well yes, the major components are there. I also have the wheels, front suspension, steering. But I had to make a lot from scratch. The whole shift linkage for example, engine attachments, cross members above and below the gearbox, the seat, roll-over bar, etc, etc. But this is something I like to do, and also trying to come up with intelligent solutions. Here are the pics from the last session:

Its looking really good.
I wish I had your capabilities, unfortunately I have office worker hands and skills.
Where did you source your wheels?
New or old?

Me too, I have an "office job" but I have been working on various types of machinery since a long time on the side and for fun. Which is good, as it keeps the motivation high.

I was looking for correct, original and usable magnesium wheels for a long time. Eventually, I found fronts which are OK, and Autotune in the UK sold me a set of "perfectly usable" rears. But when I had them here, I discovered deep cracks along the outer lips under the grime - 600 £ out of the window... After that I gave up the idea of original wheels and had 3-piece copies made by Chris Fox. They are of course much safer for racing, but have the bolts to hold the pieces together. I am fine with these, but would still be interested in one-piece rears (15" dia, 4.5" backspacing, and between 14 and 17" wide).

I am having a few business issues at the moment, which has slowed progress, but we are back on track now at the expense of my other racing.
You are right you have to have something outside of work to keep you motivated. For me it has always been cars.
Where do you live?
Will we meet on the track in the future?
I will post some photos when mine is mocked up,before painting.

Your car is looking great!
Will you be able to make the 2010 Season for the F5000 Drivers Asscociation?
I am in the process of restoring my T190/F1/03, and sad to say, I will not make it this year; however, plan on the next. http://picasaweb.google.com/mjung232/LolaT190#
I have the same problem of not being able to run the tall valve covers do to my role cage supports. If you are concerned about rocker arm sway at high rpm, may I suggest a set of shaft driven rocker arms. They will fit under the low profile valve covers and give the same performance as a studded girdle configuration.
Cheers,

Another thought:
If your T140 has the same style wheel as my car, Try talking to Glyn Jones.
I believe that the T70 CONTINUATION SERIES has the wheels for your configuration

Many thanks for your thoughts on wheels and valve covers. They are indeed the tall ones and I had to make a cutout in the engine cover. I saw the pictures of your restoration. What can I say, I thought I am doing a ground up here, but not anymore after I saw the pictures of all the new parts, the new suspension, tub, etc. you're making!
I am a member of the F5000 association, however, perhaps more a passive one, as I am in Switzerland and probably will not ship my cars around the world that quickly. And I am also progressing pretty slowly with my projects, as I am doing this besides my normal job - only a few hours on Saturdays. And then I am rather pedantic too  which of course slows things down sometimes. Currently I am making fuel banjos for the Webers, out of brass and the way I want them.
This is actually my first build up from a bare chassis and a couple of suspension parts. The M10B before was different as it was on its wheels with all components present. Now I see what it takes to build up from scratch - but it is very rewarding and fun!
