Lola in USA

Postby PLD » Sat Sep 26, 2009 8:41 pm

Hello everyone.Just got back from Monterey California, I met and talked briefly with a gentleman who is the UK representative for Lola. He informed me that Lola UK is trying to put together a gathering of Lola's in the United States at the track in upper New York sometime next year 2010. I understand that the Lola factory will be sending over a team of mechanics and engineers to help you set up your car and race that weekend. Of course everyone who has a Lola will be welcomed. When I get more information I will try to let everyone know about the event. Have a great day. PD

That could come in handy ! The thought of a team of mechanics and engineers working on my cars is a bit intimidating though. What will they think of all the duct tape and bailing wire ?

Did anything ever come of this?

Still working on it. A lola race at Thruxton was contemplated but only a few showed interest.
A Lola owner's trip to the USA is being discussed now for next spring. There has to be a sufficient level of participation for it to work out though. Are you interested ?

This does sound interesting, but it might be a little embarassing with a REAL mechanic poking about my car (which is still in several pieces!).
Own a T440 that has not been raced in 17 years. I am looking to rebuild or maybe even sell.

I know what you mean... Why buy shorter bolts when you can use longer ones with a stack of washers ?
