Lola T496 HELP

Postby Piero Lottini » Wed Jan 09, 2008 3:35 pm

My name is Piero Lottini and i'm from Italy.
Few months ago i bought a Lola T496 exactly the number 01.
I'm restoring it and i realized that the crankshaft is not in good conditions.
My Lola use a cosworth 1300 engine, a BDH. The crack is 63mm.
I'm desperate, i'm looking for a new crankshaft.
Could you please help me with this research?
Have you got any photos of the lola t496 to see the original colour??

Thanks
Piero Lottini

Hi Piero, I've checked the Lola Chassis Log and when T496 HU01 left the Lola factory in March 1977 the body was white. Of course what happened after that I don't know :). It was supplied to "Capoferri" in Italy.

I will add your name to the Chassis Register, if you would like to let me have some pictures and any history of the car I will make up an individual page on the site for you. You can send them to me at gerald@lolaheritage.co.uk.

Hi Gerald,
I'll send you some photos and all the history of the car as soon as the restoration will be completed.
Don't you know where to find a new crankshaft for that engine?

Try this link for Cosworth BD series engine parts, they list new 63mm steel crankshafts for £1,150.

Hi Piero, let me know if the company Seamus has told you about can't help and I'll make some enquiries for you.
