Trying to trace history of T290 HU18

Can anybody shed any light on the history of Lola T290, chassis HU18? It was supplied new to Bonnier and spent its life in Italy, at one time having an Abarth engine installed.

I have found Gianni Varese driving a 1300cc Lola-Abarth T290 at Italian and southern French hillclimbs in the latter half of 1972.

How did you find out that your car had been fitted with an Abarth?

The previous owner (in Sicily) told me it had an Abarth engine in the past. There are a few clues on the car: extra engine mount positions on the chassis, modified location for the triangular bracing bars, opening for the intake manifold on the opposite side of the engine cover, etc.
