A prat is a very English word for idiot, similar to plonker, div or wally :D.

Glyn is absolutely right on his recognition of Surtees in his only USAC start. Still wrong on the Third Man, and I thought this was the easy question :?. I'm starting to worry that I've got it wrong!

I'll dig out a replacement question for the Surtees one.

Hi All

I've just seen this thread and couldn't let Gerald defeat us ...

The mystery 'Third Man' is ex-race driver Reg Parnell. Reg managed the 1962 Bowmaker Racing Team, who financed the factory Surtees/Salvadori Lola MK4 GP cars.

Here's another photo with John from the Bowmaker Racing Team/Lola MK4 brochure.

After Reg died, his son Tim carried on 'Reg Parnell Racing' and went on to manage BRM.

What do I win? Rob

Rob, you get the undying gratitude of the rest of the Forum for finally answering the bl**dy question .

To clear up the other outstanding question the Indy 500 shot is of course Al Unser Snr in the 1967 Lola T92. Behind the car are A F Retzloff who sponsored the car as the "Retzloff Chemical Special", car owner John Mecom Jr and legendary Indy chief mechanic George Bignotti.

OK, I'm working on some new questions and they won't be this easy again .
