14/05/07 - JB LOLAS 1-2 AT OSCHERSLEBEN
JB Motorsport’s pair of Lola B06/30 F3 racers once again tasted success in the German F3 series at Oschersleben at the weekend

A win and two second places were the results achieved by the team in the third and fourth rounds held in the former East Germany.

The Belgian based team celebrated their first pole position of the season with Frédéric Vervisch fastest followed by team mate Nico Verdonck.

Getting a perfect start from pole position, Frédéric Vervisch took the lead and controlled the race easily. Verdonck was muscled out of 2nd place at the first corner but drove strongly when the heavens opened to pass both Carlo Van Dam and Recardo Bruins, before the safety car was deployed when the rain became torrential.

At the restart, Verdonck overtook his team mate and crossed the finish line in first place. He said: "I was impressed that the race went ahead at all in the tricky conditions. Although it was really dangerous and the conditions were extreme it was big fun. Thanks to the team. They worked very hard."

For race two, the Lola’s lined up in 2nd and 4th positions, with Vervisch finishing just behind winner Van Dam. Verdonck was involved in an accident with A1 GP Germany racer, Christian Vietoris at the first turn. However, the Belgian put in a superb recovery drive to finish in 6th place

Frédéric Vervisch: "I had a good start and tried to follow Van Dam. At the end I came closer but I couldn't overtake him. I am happy about my second places this weekend and I thank the team."

Nico Verdonck: "It was a difficult race. In the first corner I was pushed off. Back on the track, I tried to overtake Simon Solgat and Max Nilsson. I tried everything for a better result. Finally, I overtook Nilsson in the last lap."

The next races of the ATS Formula 3 Cup will take place from 8th to 9th of June at the Nürburgring. The organizers expect once again 200.000 visitors at the 24h event.
