11/01/07 - LOLA-MAZDA PLANS UNVEILED AT ASI
Lola were represented on the main stage at Autosport today to announce the partnership between themsleves, Mazda and AER to compete in the American Le Mans Series this year.

After agreeing a partnership with Mazdaspeed and B-K Motorsports, the new B07/40 will race for the first time at the Sebring 12 Hours in March. The car will be powered by a new MZR-R prototype engine.

Lola Managing Director Rupert Manwaring (pictured left with Ben Devlin and Oliver Allen) said of the partnership: "We are delighted to be working with Mazda on this project. They have a very rich, varied and successful history in the sport, particularly with sportscars. I am sure that this package will reap more success in the years to come."

Driver Ben Devlin, who will team up with American Jamie Bach, was delighted at being involved in the project.

"It is a great opportunity for a young lad like myself to be involved in a project like this," said Devlin on stage at the Autosport International Show. "To be involved in LMP2, which is very, very strong, is a fantastic opportunity for myself."

Oliver Allen of AER Ltd, said: "Mazda thrives on innovation, and the America Le Mans Series supplies a great challenge to our engineers and teams.Over the past two years we have enjoyed a number of successes in the P2 class and are looking forward to the increased competition in 2007."
