THE LOLA T390

The T390 was the 2-litre version of the 3-litre T380 but, by 1975, 2-litre racing was in the doldrums with the European Championship down to just two races. Guy Edwards, in the works chassis, took second at Silverstone but was only 9th at Hockenheim, although Ruedi Jauslin was 5th in HU3. Martin Raymond competed in HU1 at the Spa 1000kms, a round of the 1975 World Championship for Makes but failed to finish. Other than this several cars ended up in the Interserie Championship where they had a long life, racing up until 1982, but there were no podium finishes.

The T390 chassis and suspension were identical to the T380 with just a few changes for the smaller capacity engine, either a Ford, Hart or BMW. Sadly, like its bigger brother, the T390 was not one of Lola's more successful designs.
