Lola T340 Chassis number HU07 is currently racing actively in the San Francisco region of the SCCA. The owner is Mike McCluney of La Silva Beach, near Monterey California. This beautiful and extensively modified T340 is currently driven by 23 year old Elliott Lampkin of Meadow Vista, California.
This car sat in pieces for 14 years while Mike's daughter Megan and Elliott raced Quarter Midgets against each other whilst growing up. When Elliott was about to graduate high school, Mike asked Elliott if he would like to restore the car to it's former glory as his high school "Senior Project" and race it in the SCCA. Mike delivered the basket case to Elliott, where he began the year long restoration with the help of his grandfather Ken and Jerry (his dad). Fortunately they had some of the original prints and diagrams and a fresh (though not updated) engine. Unfortunately they did not realize that Mike had built a completely new frame, modified the oiling system by moving the oil tank, moved the fuel cell to where the oil tank was, and moved the radiators to the T342 location. The car now sports Penske double adjustable shocks custom built by Naake Motorsports in Roseville California, new engine by Ivey engines in Portland Oregon, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, aero nose, new sheet metal, and extensive tuning and testing.
The car has been very successful in the San Francisco Region where it usually runs in the top 5 (against the newer Crossle's) in the extremely competitive Club Ford Class.
